Description

Key responsibilities
  • Strategic Business Development: Identify and develop new business growth opportunities, both in the Indian Ocean and East Africa. Lead market research and build feasibility plans for new business segments. Closely work with peers to formulate the most appropriate Route-to-Market model.
  • Market Analysis: Gather and analyse data on competitors, as well as market and sales trend. Examine risks and opportunities. Develop strategies based on data analysis and market knowledge.
  • Operation Management: Plan the procurement budget and manage logistics in collaboration with the Supply Chain team. Create pricing models for products.
  • Supplier Management: Participate actively with suppliers in product developments to ensure a competitive position in anticipation of changing customer needs. Lead suppliers’ visits, as well as prepare and attend business reviews.
  • Logistic Monitoring: Keep abreast of import and export procedures, custom regulations and taxation. Get acquainted with freight forwarders, clearing agents, health and customs authorities, among others.
  • People Management: Manage and monitor the performance of territories team, such as the Country Manager and Medical Delegate team, ensuring proper internal control exercise. Provide guidance and counselling to team members, while ensuring targeted results are reached.
  • Financial Management: Participate in the budgeting process of the department. Prepare annual brand plan in collaboration with concerned Category Managers and/or business partners.
  • Reporting and Regulatory: Prepare and analyse monthly reports and dashboards covering identified risks, opportunities, market trends, stocks and sales, among others.
  • Service Excellence: Manage, monitor and continuously strive to improve the service delivery.
Qualifications
  • Degree holder in Sales/Marketing, Business Management, International Business or any other equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of business development experience.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and leadership skills.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of service excellence.
