#5 Ways to Manage High Blood Sugar at Home

Managing your blood sugar is important. Thus, staying in your target range helps improve your energy and mood, as well as preventing or delaying serious long-term health issues such as heart or kidney disease or even visions loss.

Here are some simple ways to help you lower your blood sugar levels naturally, at home:

#1. Exercise regularly to help your muscles use blood sugar for energy and muscle contraction and maintain a moderate weight.
#2. Reduce your carb intake, eat fiber-rich foods (vegetables, fruits, and whole grains), plan your meals properly and maintain a moderate weight.
#3. Drink enough water regularly to stay hydrated and help your kidneys eliminate any excess of sugar through urine.
#4. Get at least 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep per night. This can help to maintain your blood sugar levels and promote a healthy weight.
#5. Choose foods with a low glycemic index (55 or less GI) such as oats, beans, lentils, and whole wheat pasta.

Remember to usually check your blood sugar and keep a record for a better blood sugar management.
